Community-Led 💬 What's on the Minds of Early Adopters #9
Responsible AI, What's big in 2022 and IRL events
Welcome to Community-Led. Each week we connect founders to dozens of early adopters and technology executives in fast growing startups and Fortune 500 companies. This newsletter surfaces the most interesting insights and conversations across the >1,000 members of the Decibel community every month. Let’s dive in!
One Big Trend Worth Your Time
AI has a lot of power, a lot of promise and, increasingly, a common concern.
As operators, we see AI as a tool to achieve goals across the business including scaling up workforces, dialing in personalized marketing or streamlining production lines. This democratization of AI, often enabled by companies such as Abacus.AI, continues to broaden its productive utilization and impact. However, what is increasingly common is the concern we all share about the responsible use of AI.
As the proliferation of AI continues, it is important for early adopters and operators to remember that, as Credo AI founder Navrina Singh likes to remind us, “with great power comes great responsibility.”
The Watercooler: What we’re hearing in the Community
An Inside Look at Innovation: Credo AI
Artificial intelligence tools are commonplace nowadays no matter what space you operate in. Whether you are in a regulated industry or protecting a valuable brand, enabling the ethical use of AI is essential to managing risk and reputation, and that requires insight into how it’s operating under the hood.
Credo AI was founded by Navrina Singh and Eli Chen to provide an end-to-end governance platform for everyone from startups to enterprises to help manage compliance and risk for AI deployments at scale, providing tools for auditing alignment with responsible AI principles, complying with different regulatory environments, and proactive AI risk management. With transparent AI operation, companies can be confident in the efficiency and ethics of their AI use.
Decibel Friends and Family Events
As a thank you to our early adopter customers, we hosted Derek Jeter, 14-time All Star and World Series MVP of the New York Yankees, and now CEO of the Florida Marlins at a small reception in NYC. Our Decibel early adopter customer community provides invaluable support and insights to our early stage technical founders.
Recently inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, Derek participated in a fireside chat with Decibel founding partner, Jon Sakoda, on leadership and how to transform organizations both on and off the field.
Then, we headed to Las Vegas for the AWS re:invent conference where we hosted a cocktail reception for 80+ members of our early stage community including founders, early adopter customers and investor friends.
It was great to get out and meet up with our community. Please reach out if you plan to attend RSA in San Francisco. We hope to see you IRL soon!
