Community-Led 💬 What's on the Minds of Early Adopters #23
2024 is the year of AI _________, enterprise killer apps and staying ahead of attacker adaptation!
Welcome to Community-Led. Each week we connect founders to dozens of early adopters and technology executives in fast growing startups and Fortune 500 companies. This newsletter surfaces the most interesting insights and conversations across the >1,500 members of the Decibel early adopter community every month. Let’s dive in!
“Some believe 2024 is the year of AI disappointment. Others believe it will be the year of AI possibility. I believe it will be both.” Clara Shih, CEO of Salesforce AI.
As I kicked off conversations with members of Decibel’s early adopter community this year, many agreed with Clara’s sentiments while also reporting that the pace of change, progress, and debates around GenAI in the enterprise continues to accelerate. My partner, Jess Leao, recently shared some of our thoughts in “AI predictions for 2024: What top VCs think” where themes included the democratization of AI through open source and why quality of life will improve for the “GPU poor”.

Is 2024 the year of GenAI in the enterprise? The data shows the pace of tinkering, if not full adoption, continues to increase in the enterprise. OpenAI is reporting 92% of the Fortune 500 is accessing ChatGPT and Decibel’s research finds 75 of the Fortune 100 has internal or external (ie customer facing) deployments of GenAI-enabled applications and/or tools. We crowdsourced some burning questions and considerations that may influence the direction (and pace) of AI adoption in the enterprise and weighed in on how to price AI Agent offerings.
Through conversations with early stage founders, investors and technical buyers we hear about critical questions including the acceptance of AI Agents in the workplace, deploying AI without human “alignment” and, perhaps most importantly, who will start making money in AI. I look forward to working with you this year to test, discover and push the boundaries of our mutual thinking, knowledge and curiosity through our early adopter engagements with the technical founders and companies who are building the future of enterprise AI including Abacus.AI, Credo AI, Dropzone AI, Pixee and more stealth companies that are coming soon! 🚀

An Inside Look at Innovation - Sublime Security
“We believe that when everyone’s in on the fight, we’re more likely to win. And we plan on winning.” Josh Kamdjou, Founder & CEO of Sublime Security
Sublime Security is the first open and community-powered email security platform that lets anyone write, run, and share rules to detect and block email threats and the customer traction says it all…
Sublime prevents email attacks using Detection-as-Code and behavioral AI enabling security teams to gain visibility and control, hunt for advanced threats, and spend less time on email-originated incidents.
Just as the InfoSec community already uses DSLs for detection and response in all other areas of security: YARA for binaries, Snort/Suricata for packets, osquery/EDR for endpoint, Sigma/EQL for logs - now there’s Sublime for email! Try it for free. 🚀
